Godzilla fans, start clearing shelf space. The LEGO Group is releasing its first-ever Godzilla set, and it’s a monster in every sense.
The LEGO Ideas Godzilla set has 5,363 pieces, making it the largest LEGO Ideas model ever released. Based on Legendary’s Monsterverse version of the character, it stands more than 70 cm tall when posed with its Heat Ray, enough to dominate a home office desk, a collector’s shelf or the centre of a movie memorabilia display.
Built to be posed
The design captures Godzilla’s imposing look with textured, scaly skin, jagged dorsal fins and a sweeping tail. The shoulders, elbows, wrists and fingers are all adjustable, so builders can put the creature in whatever battle-ready stance they like. For the signature moment, the tongue can be swapped for the included Heat Ray element, recreating Godzilla’s upward atomic roar.
A gift for the fan who has everything
With more than 70 years of history behind the character, the set is aimed at longtime Godzilla devotees, Monsterverse fans and collectors. If someone on your list already owns the movies, the memorabilia and a few monster figures, this takes the fandom up a size. It’s also a fitting present for the adult who still loves a good monster movie, and for anyone who insists they’re impossible to shop for.
