Embrace Tofino’s unique take on festive cheer, whether in person or virtually from the comfort of home, with Tofino Resort + Marina’s Sea of Lights celebration taking place on the resort and live-streamed on Saturday December 4th.
Festivities start from 4pm with s’mores and hot chocolate by donation around the fire pit (thanks to the Tofino Fire Department) and at 5.30pm, a Christmas Market will open in the Upper Hatch with gifting ideas from Central Westcoast Forest Society, Agnes Wolfe, The Hobbyist and more. At 6.30pm, those at home are invited to join in virtually via Facebook Live, Instagram Live or YouTube as Tofino Resort + Marina illuminates a 12 ft tall, towering outdoor Christmas tree with over 1,000 twinkling lights, to caroling by the Tofino Children’s Choir.
After that, the attention shifts to the water where a glittering Sea of Lights boat parade will glide past the resort’s Marina from 6.45pm to 7.15pm. For those interested to participate in the floating light up, Sea of Lights registration is available until December 1st. The most decorated boat will receive a gift certificate to 1909 Kitchen.
“We are proud that our Sea of Lights and tree light-up has become a community holiday tradition and a wonderful way to mark the start of the holidays,” says Christopher Fehr, General Manager of Tofino Resort + Marina. “We are excited to welcome both guests and locals to celebrate the start of the festive season.”
Whether planning a trip to Tofino or looking to stay local this festive season, Tofino Resort + Marina’s expanded retail options offer a range of thoughtful gifts for loved ones, available to purchase online or in person at the resorts.
