With the announcement of three shows at the iconic Orpheum theatre, get ready to be transported to the depths of the coral kingdoms, the tops of mountain peaks, and the jungles of India in search of the elusive wild cats. 

National Geographic Live has been captivating audiences worldwide for over a century, and now it’s your turn to experience the wonder and excitement. With each show, you’ll be introduced to a roster of talented photographers, filmmakers, and explorers who will share their remarkable stories of adventure and discovery. From rare undersea photography to mountain climbing and lesser-known felines of India, these speakers will take you on a journey of discovery that you’ll never forget.

ABOUT THE SHOWS

“Coral Kingdoms and Empires of Ice” with David Doubilet and Jennifer Hayes – May 9 (7.30pm – 9pm)

Explore rarely seen underwater worlds with photographers Doubilet and Hayes, who share hypnotizing images of the waters of Kimbe Bay, Papua New Guinea – part of the famed Coral Triangle. They also venture into the mysterious world beneath the Antarctic ice, and to the Gulf of St. Lawrence to capture images of whales, wolffish and harp seals. 

“Life on the Vertical” with Mark Synnott – September 12 (7.30pm – 9pm) 

Legendary climber and National Geographic adventure writer Synnott has earned a reputation as a big wall pioneer with numerous first ascents. Today, he helps scientists make significant findings in remote, inaccessible places. Throughout his storied career, he has stayed on the leading edge of discovery – and he’ll share those experiences and insights during this riveting show. 

“Wild Cats of India” with Sandesh Kadur – October 24 (7.30pm – 9pm)                                        

With landscapes spanning the towering Himalayas, arid plains and dense jungles, India is home to an unmatched diversity of wild cats. While many are well-known and thoroughly documented, photographer and filmmaker

Sandesh Kaur is on a mission to highlight the country’s lesser-known felines in order to protect their future. Through startling images and video, Kadur treats audiences to an up-close look at elusive species such as the grumpy-faced Pallas’s cat, a fishing cat that jumps into water to catch its prey, and the ancient clouded leopard.
