Whistler, BC (July 12, 2016) – Marking its 20th anniversary, Whistler’s Cornucopia returns with two weeks of food and drink themed events, seminars and dinners taking place November 9-20, 2016.

Nita Lake Lodge is the place to be for opening weekend with a trio of Sip & Savour dinners and two lively events planned to kick-start the festivities. Stay surrounded by lakeside luxury, a perfect base to explore the Festival’s events and seminars in the nearby village, before retiring to your spacious suite to prepare to dine and dance the night away.

On Friday November 11, Nita Lake Lodge hosts an evening of festivities in collaboration with McClelland Premium Imports (MPI), Canada’s rare European beer importer. The Beer Dinner is a four-course fete that pairs each dish with a rare, European beer from the MPI collection (6:30 pm-late, $59 plus tax for individual tickets). Tickets to the dinner will also include entry to the Nita Beer Fest, a traditional Oktoberfest party featuring classic Bavarian music, beer served in traditional ‘mass’, and a themed bar menu available in Cure Lounge (8:00pm-late, $29 plus tax for individual tickets). Lederhosen encouraged.

Whisky takes centre stage on Saturday November 12 with a five-course paired Whisky dinner created by Chef Dean Hossack and paired with the finest Scottish and Irish malts from Diageo Spirits, all set in Nita’s magical lakeside Aura Restaurant (6:30pm-late, $99 per individual ticket). Afterwards brush up on your Charleston and don your best flapper dress for Cure lounge’s 1920’s themed “Party like a Gatsby”. Savour Prohibition-style cocktails and delicious canapés before dancing the night away to the speak-easy band (8pm-late, $29 plus tax for individual tickets).

Aura Restaurant’s final Sip & Savour dinner will be a unique Nose-to-Tail four-course menu prepared by Chef Dean Hossack showcasing local produce and featuring an organically raised pig from Rootdown Organic Farm, paired with wines from BC’s Laughing Stock Winery ($125 plus tax).
