Starting Monday November 29th, The Courtney Room will welcome back locals and visitors alike for weekday lunch service, exclusively for the festive period.
“We’ve been inundated with requests from those looking for an intimate venue for small holiday lunches, so we decided to reopen our doors and celebrate the best of Vancouver Island produce and flavours with our à la carte and three-course Prix Fixe lunch menus,” says Renée Lauzon, restaurant manager at The Courtney Room.
At $35 per person, the Prix Fixe lunch menu offers exceptional value, featuring a choice of new, seasonal dishes over three courses. To start, guests can choose from Tom Yum Soup with winter squash, local onion, chili and cashew crumble or Beet & Apple Salad with pickled pepper and Haltwhistle cheese; followed by locally-caught Fish & Chips with house-made “fancy sauce”, Blackened Chicken with duck fat potatoes, radish and jalapeno or Handmade Cavatelli Pasta with winter herb pesto, Pecorino DOP and walnuts. Finish with Chocolate Cremeux with chai-spiced fruit for dessert.
The à la carte menu, also available from 11am to 2pm, Monday to Friday, includes familiar favourites such as TCR Dry Aged Beef Burger with aged Cheddar, classic sauce and sumac pickles ($18); Fried Chicken Sandwich with kimchi, coffee BBQ sauce and pickled shallot ranch ($18); and TCR Grain Bowl with ancient grains, salsa verde and house preserved vegetables ($18). New dishes that feature on the Prix Fixe menu are also available to order individually.
After lunch, be sure to stock up on Christmas gifts including the new Island Eats cookbook (featuring Chef Brian Tesolin) and gift cards. Until December 19, purchase a $100 gift card and receive a bonus $20 to be used between January 2 and April 30, 2022.
