Unexpectedly Refreshing Scotch Drinks for Summer Sipping!

Like most Canadians, we’re ecstatic to welcome summer once again. Thoughts of the sunshine on our skin, cozy backyard bonfires, and sunny beach days loom – and Glenfiddich pairs perfectly with all your favourite summer occasions.

Despite often being considered as a cold season spirit, these summer-inspired recipes from Glenfiddich single malt scotch will stir masterfully into summer occasions with their vividly coloured, unexpectedly refreshing profiles that will be sure to delight all season long.

THE HIGHLAND HONEYDEW

  • 2 oz Glenfiddich 12 Year Old
  • 1 Sugar Cube
  • ½ cup Melon
  • 8 Basil Leaves + 1 Sprig for Garnish
  • 1 oz Fresh Lime Juice
  • ¼ oz Simple Syrup (Optional 1:1)

In a shaker, muddle melon and 1 white sugar cube to a pulp. Add in basil and gently muddle. Pour in Glenfiddich, lime juice and optional simple syrup. Add a handful of

ice. Give this a vigorous shake. Pour all contents into a large rocks glass. Top with crushed ice. Garnish with basil sprig.

THE SPEYSIDE STRAWBERRY

  • 2 Strawberries (halved, stemmed removed)
  • 1 ½ oz Glenfiddich 14 Year Old
  • ½ oz Amaretto
  • ½ oz Lemon Juice
  • ½ oz Orange Juice
  • oz Honey Syrup (1:1)
  • 1 dash Angostura Bitters
  • 1 oz Egg White

Muddle strawberries in a shaker and add all your ingredients. Dry shake (without ice). Add ice to shaker and shake once more vigorously. Strain into coupe.

THE SMOKY PEACH

  • 1 quarter Ripe Peach
  • 1 ½ oz Glenfiddich’s Fire & Cane
  • ½ oz Mezcal
  • 1 oz Pineapple Juice
  • ½ oz Lemon Juice
  • ½ oz Honey Syrup

Muddle peach in a shaker. Add all your ingredients with a handful of ice and shake well. Double strain into collins glass filled with ice.

THE SOMERSET JULEP

  • 2 oz Glenfiddich Orchard Experiment
  • 1 oz Honey Syrup (1:1)
  • ½ oz Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice
  • 4 Dashes Cinnamon Bitters
  • 10 Mint Leaves + Sprig for Garnish
  • 3 Thinly Sliced Apple Slices for Garnish

In a julep tin, gently slap mint and place inside tin. Add your syrup, Glenfiddich Orchard Experiment, lemon, and bitters. Fill ¾ of the tin with crushed ice. Stir until ice is combined. Top with crushed ice. Garnish with mint sprig and apple fan.
