Apple Caramel Dip

1960

I grew up in the Okanagan where September not only meant back to school, but also apple harvest. There are so many wonderful desserts you can create with apples, but here’s an easy snack that everyone in the family will love. It certainly won’t last long and is a great to way get their daily quota of fruit! The ingredients for Caramel Apple dip are pretty straightforward, and you can easily prepare this a day ahead. Have plenty of apples around and simply slice them into wedges before serving with the dip.

Caramel Apple dip

1 – 8 ounce pkg. cream cheese (room temperature)

1 – 12 ounce container of Cool Whip (slightly thawed)

1 jar caramel sauce (16 to 20 oz.) I used Bernard Callebaut Karamel Sauce

1 ½ cups Skor bits

½ cup grated dark chocolate

Apples – sliced

Mix together cream cheese and Cool Whip until blended. Spread the mixture evenly in a glass 9 x 13 dish (or any dish of choice). Pour the caramel sauce over the cream cheese mixture and spread evenly. Sprinkle the Skor bits over the caramel sauce and top with grated chocolate. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Slice up apples to dip in the sauce.
