The renovations are well underway for the new terminal dock for Harbour Air Seaplanes in Victoria’s Inner Harbour. Harbour Air is currently the world’s largest seaplane airline and has developed 12325261_10154003855611419_664586986_nthe Victoria terminal to free up important public space. The $4 million terminal development is in partnership with Seattle based, Kenmore Air and was brought over by boat in February from where it was constructed in Bamberton. The stunning new facility was designed by Architect Sid Chow. Using materials of both wood and glass, Sid captures a west coast modern essence giving character to a structure in the heart of our harbour.

“There is no facility like this in the world,” said Randy Wright, Executive Vice President.  “We think this will be a landmark for Victoria’s Harbour and improve the travel experience of the thousands of passengers who fly in and out of the capital on Harbour Air and Kenmore every week.” The Victoria Harbour Air Airport terminal will have direct flights to downtown Vancouver, 12834633_10154003855256419_158307174_nSouth Vancouver (YVR), Pitt Meadows, Whistler and Seattle, and link into Harbour Air Groups network including Whistler Air, Saltspring Air.

“By placing the Victoria Harbour Airport Terminal on the water, Harbour Air can now remove its current buildings on the edge of the harbour,” added Wright. “This will free up green space and enable the construction of a waterfront plaza promenade.”
