Escape the Pen in Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country on Saturday May 29, 2021. Enjoy an afternoon of carefully tailored, progressive wine and food touring on a Pig Out Trail.  This year’s event will be anchored to engaging wine tasting experiences guided by some of the region’s most established winemakers and proprietors, in outdoor settings.  Pig Out Trails will mirror the transitioned and successful format of the 2020 event and is designed to be flexible in order to accommodate the changing nature of the pandemic health and safety regulations.

More than 40 Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country members will be pouring new releases and fan favourites, alongside Escape the Pen pork dishes from the region’s most notable culinary teams including Terrafina at Hester Creek Estate Winery, Masala Bistro at Kismet Estate Winery, the talented culinary team at Phantom Creek Estates. A popular addition to last year’s Pig Trails, Vancouver’s Paella Guys will return with their innovative take on the events celebration of nose to tail dining at select wineries; and Oliver Eats and more.

On Saturday, May 29th, attendees will board a dedicated bus adhering to recommended safety protocols including mandatory face masks and hand sanitizer, before heading to the first of four winery stops.  The event’s “Escape the Pen” theme will be interpreted in different and unique ways at each winery, as they create thoughtful and outdoor tasting experiences aimed at showcasing their portfolio of wines as well as educating guests in farming and grape growing practices and the art of winemaking.

Friday May 28th, two iconic wineries, one on Black Sage Bench and one on the Golden Mile Bench will host Guest Chef Dinners: small, outdoor, multi-course feasts prepared by other notable local and guest chefs, paired with a range of the wines from the host vineyards.
