“The Real Wild West,” a brand-new flight ride experience is landing in Vancouver at FlyOver Canada this fall. Officially introduced last month at the opening of the new FlyOver in Las Vegas, the dynamic attraction takes guests on a multi-sensory journey as they soar over the American West’s most iconic locations and natural wonders as part of a cutting-edge entertainment experience.

Starting November 4, FlyOver Canada, located at Canada Place along the downtown Vancouver waterfront, invites locals and visitors to step into a multi-sensory journey through the most mesmerizing locations and moments over the American West.

Shot by award winning film director, Dave Mossop of Whistler-based Sherpas Cinema, the immersive show features FlyOver’s signature awe-inspiring technology. Iconic destinations featured include in Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Montana, California, Arizona, New Mexico and Utah captured by helicopter in high definition. The dramatic visuals of the American West are heightened by the sensation of flight with an original score from Grammy-nominated Tom Holkenborg, while the emotive pre-show, created by Montréal entertainment studio Moment Factory, ignites the journey.

“The Real Wild West” covers once-in-a-lifetime experiences like glimpsing a solar eclipse in Oregon’s Cascade Volcanic Arc; riding alongside stallions in Yellowstone National Park; surfing San Francisco’s biggest waves captured on film in 20 years; and nose diving into the Grand Canyon.

The flight ride film is projected on FlyOver’s 20-metre spherical screen, with a state-of-the-art moving platform enabling guests to feel every movement, along with wind, mist and location-specific scents. “FlyOver and Pursuit work with top-tier talent on every experience we produce, and this is no exception,” said Lisa Adams, vice president of FlyOver Attractions. “We were thrilled to debut ‘The Real Wild West’ in Las Vegas, and I’m just as excited to introduce the attraction in Vancouver. This experience offers a piece of history, along with must-see attractions south of the border, in an accessible environment that’s close to home.”

“The Real Wild West” premieres at FlyOver Canada on November 4 and runs through December 5.

There will be extensive health and safety protocols in place in accordance with provincial health regulations. This includes proof of vaccination passports for entry, (two vaccination doses required for guests 12+), in addition to mandatory mask usage.
